Parish Life

The parish is the centre of Church life - the family of families that is intended to be a basic building block of society. St Monica Institute is developing a broad spectrum of formation and support for parish leaders, ministers, and helpers in the areas of catechesis, sacramental preparation, outreach ministries, and liturgy. Look here for relevant courses, events, and resources.

There is much to learn, much to share here. And we must have ready as many methods of teaching and outreach as their exist souls:

Whoever teaches must become "all things to all men" (I Cor 9:22), to
win everyone to Christ. . . Above all, teachers must not imagine that a
single kind of soul has been entrusted to them, and that consequently
it is lawful to teach and form equally all the faithful in true piety with
one and the same method!

The Office of Formation for Discipleship for the Archdiocese of Toronto is one of our most important partners, working with us to present courses in Catechesis, Bereavement, and other ministries at the parish level, as well as resources, retreats, and workshops for families.
